Testimonials
Rooted in neurodivergent, queer, and trauma-affirming values, our practice is built on trust and authenticity. Here’s how clients describe the impact of our work together.
For so long, I thought I was the only one who feels the way I feel, and then I met Kara and things slowly started making more sense. I feel like I belong. I don’t feel like I’m alone. Kara has helped me see that I am worthy of care and help.
Kara is real, she is genuine, she is living the same struggles we all face, and she is still non-judgmental, forward-thinking, and an advocate to healthy positive change at your pace.
She’s taught me that mental disease doesn’t discriminate, strikes at any time, and demands consistent therapy and a regimented, self-care-routine. For me, it’s imperative to stay grounded and routine is everything. Kara has recommended podcasts, groups, videos, and books I needed to help me understand the battle I face every day.
Finally, having spent my life as an athlete, coach and athletic director, being tough was drilled into me at an early age. Unfortunately, with mental health disease, being tough I’ve learned is the worst characteristic to have. I had to learn to reach out, accept help, be vulnerable, and, most importantly, commit to the necessary work to stay as mentally healthy as possible.
Being tough means taking the steps (which are often difficult) to reach out for help and admitting it’s impossible to defeat alone.
